free web3 startup idea: let me easily write an encrypted note with each Metamask transaction. Trying to go back during tax season and remember why I sent 0.0069 eth to some random wallet is a nightmare.

Unless it was saved in your wallet, there’d need to be a separate service to accept these notes, but also you’d need a separate key to do the encryption.

I think saving to the wallet is correct approach here, as it is personal rather than public note. Of course, if the wallet is a smart contract, then it *would* be on-chain, and it becomes the “separate service “
