How do you set boundaries in a world that values constant availability? It feels like we’re expected to be “on” 24/7, whether it’s for work, social media, or messages from family. Finding ways to disconnect and make time for ourselves isn’t easy, but it’s more important than ever. Here’s a few things I do: - I only answer DMs once a day, no matter how many come in—otherwise, I’d be checking my messages constantly. - I also make a point to shut off my phone for a few hours each night to spend time with my wife. She gets grumpy if Warpcast gets all the time. Taking my face out of a screen for a bit always helps me recharge. (Although, I’ll admit—it’s been hard since the introduction or @clanker 😂) What about you? How do you set boundaries in our always connected world?

My goto plan is frens, just spend time with loved ones, there'll be no worries all through, cause we'll realize that we don't really matter as much to those we don't know or care about

An important boundary for me to set was deleting all work related apps from my phone. For a few years I had everything from work on my private phone (mail, teams, etc.) - I checked every mail that came in, even when it was at 9pm to see if it's important. This kinda stressed me out. Now I deleted everything work related and once I close my notebook in the office I'm not reachable and can enjoy my free-time. Best decision ever!

I'll dedicate a certain amount of time daily to responding to messages on here and irl. If I receive any after that time I will push them off until the next day.

For me I don't have any rules. But I think the biggest thing I've done is set a perspective that I'm going to miss a lot of stuff and that's ok. I'm usually not good at accepting things I don't necessarily like, but this is one area it's worked well. And I think in web3 it's part of how I see myself and what I'm trying to achieve. So, I pick up my phone a lot but I don't get nervous or FOMO when I scroll (most times, I do get some FOMO). And I've done surprisingly well, imo, in a space that wouldn't seem to support such an approach. But as you know, I'm more behind the scenes and not running the most /success ful channel on FC. So, it's two different worlds.

Setting times where you're not on your phone is a must. Don't live behind a screen.

Yes, indeed, nowadays it is a big problem to set the boundaries correctly. I also put down my phone in the evening and spend time with my parents and sisters watching a movie. I also don't set silent mode when I'm doing homework or doing something important, so that I'm not distracted, and that is, there is a great temptation to get into the phone😂 Do you think you have a phone addiction? @maretus

Setting boundaries in our always-connected world is important for mental well-being.... I agree with your idea of checking DMs only once a day. I also try to disconnect by having 'no tech' hours in the evening, spending weekends without digital interruptions, and practicing mindfulness through meditation and reading physical books..... These habits improve my productivity and help me build stronger relationships and personal growth..... How do you manage to find balance in this always-on culture?

I don't look at my phone during the time when I'm focused on myself. Sometimes, cell phones make me feel trapped in a cave. For example, exercise time, eating time, sleeping time, etc. You can find yourself only when you spend time for yourself, but if you stay in your cell phone, you will have a problem. You should spend time going out and breathing fresh air, looking at the sky, running and having a conversation with me while making your heart beat. This is the time to really meet me, the time to break down boundaries.

This is a great topic, very relevant. I think by now I built internal ignore mechanism, many years ago I stopped responding to the phone notifications, wouldn’t disturb me even when sleeping, then recently as I created some communities and instant responses became relevant this super power started to fade, but I am relearning it alongside building mechanism to ignore real life disruptors. Where I live right now neighbors and society still comes in to socialize spontaneously unplanned, I need to follow Salvador Dali recommendation “keep craziness outside of the house except for Sunday, let them in to get inspired only one day in a week”

This is a tough decision to make, but setting some boundaries has make everything easier for me because everything has it own time. Starting from waking up in the middle of the night to say my mind to God , to morning mediation every blessed day, down to been discipline at work during my painting 🖼 work, just to make sure I achieve my aim because transforming imagination into reality has never been easy as people view them.

Life lately with Warpcast has not been easy. Since I want others to respect my limits,I must also respect their boundaries. It's one of those fundamental truths. I ensure I Warpcast 2-3hours before going to my normal work, then only Warpcast when I am lest between else I will be cheating my employer. Then fully faced it afterwards.Needed to set this up so that one will not take each others time. My weekend is for fam n friends cos I have not been having time for them. Good morning boss

I usually work more than 8 hours a day on my phone, constantly responding to messages. However, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes, when I’m not in the mood to chat, I don’t reply to anyone and just focus on my work. I also make sure to spend a few hours each day with my family.
