The Power of Building a Strong Network If there is one thing that I’ve learned over and over in life, it’s that you can get farther off who you know than what you know. That might sound trite but it’s been true in my life and those that I know best. Building your network can lead you to career opportunities, side gigs, and chances that you wouldn’t find otherwise. So, how do you build a network in 2024? Personally, I have the most success by combining the internet with the real world. I found my current job by canvassing for clients on a website called warriorforum.com 15+ years ago. Doing good work lead me to go from freelancer to full time employee. I have also had a lot of /success here on Warpcast. I don’t think there is a more friendly environment online for building a strong network. The people and culture have lead me to some incredible connections. So today, let’s talk about networking and how to leverage tools like Warpcast, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

building a strong network is something you should build as a key to the future. that said - it's not only online, but it's irl! also, the more experience you get, you'll discover that EVERY industry has people that you see over and over again. you never know when when that person that you engaged with on the plane will turn out to be a person that changes your life i have a close friend who was coming back from a trip and talked to a person on the plane about telecom providers and particularly one that our company had recently engaged with. the person was so intrigued, he decided to switch over their organization to this provider. unfortunately, they didn't have the expertise to do so and issues arose. they contacted my friend and he agreed to fly out and help them get everything working. the telecom organization heard about what happened, and offered him a job on the spot. Today he is an executive at that organization.

I just show my value, through my confidence and action. These days, everyone does the same thing and are good at it, so what can make me stand out? I have to say and do something they would never expect normally, and that just makes people want to know me and connect with me, that's how I network

I come from the outdoor industry, another networking heavy industry…it’s all about who you know. Took an interest in crypto in the last few months and decided to see what I could learn from it. A few rabbit NFTs later and, now I’m here on Warpcast. Which itself has been another venture. Learning and interacting/ networking. I’ve been invited to group chats, I’ve joined hypersubs, collected airdrops, all within 1-2 months. Such an incredibly exciting experience all together!

To me networking always felt overwhelming, but I realized I needed to put myself out there. Attending events helped me meet new people and stepping out of my comfort Joining Warpcast has been a game-changer too, I've connected with amazing people by engaging with their content and adding value. I tried using other platforms like Twitter, but it felt toxic so I was always skeptical about meeting people there.

True words, networks are there for a reason. I survived most of my freelance life because of a network of creatives I worked with. It lasted about 15 years, then it began to fade due to time & logistics. Fast forward to the pandemic and and I lost all of my network. That’s what got me started in art. I took that loss of network and tried to create an opportunity. Lastly how do we network in the modern age when starting out? 1. Find a social network you like (here) 2. Beginning having conversation with those you feel a vibe with. 3. Share your work and post things that help others. 4. Collaborate. Thanks @maretus.eth GN!!

I learned that more as a freelancer. Building a strong network help in getting returning buyers of my service. In my regular 9-5 job, I have gotten referrals for PM roles based on the network I have built. And to warpcast, I have earned more when I joined this /success network. Which is an indication that strong network help you achieve greater.

Imagine you’re a photographer. By attending photography events or joining online groups, you meet new people. One of them might be an editor at a reputable magazine looking for photographers for projects. Just like that, you could find a great job opportunity!

If there’s one thing life keeps proving, it’s that who you know can sometimes be as valuable as what you know. That might sound like a cliche, but it’s played out in my life and the lives of so many people around me. A strong network can open doors to career moves, side gigs, and chances you might never find on your own. A profound scenario I will never forget was in 2022 during the NFT days. While some of my friends were focused on WLs, I was focused on creating connections with Project managers, Mods, collab managers, Founders, Artist respectively. The first, Second and Third Job I took as a Moderator and collab manager was as a result of the connections I made On discord and Twitter. I get hands-on on important WLs while others are still struggling to get them. For me, networking success lies in blending the online with the offline. Warpcast is an important platform where great connections can be made. Few days in /success and I’ve already met few persons with great talents and success.

Over the years, I've had countless small business ideas swirling around in my head. Things like starting an Instagram page to sell useful gadgets, opening a fast food kiosk, renovating small residential homes, and so much more. But due to financial constraints and time limitations, I've never been able to bring any of them to fruition. Currently, the only part-time work I can somewhat manage is working in the crypto space. You know, Maretus, I think a successful part-time job is one that doesn’t tie you down to a strict schedule. Otherwise, it’s not really part-time anymore. There’s this law that says to gain something, you have to lose something else. So, I believe a part-time job should minimize what you have to give up.

This is both my weakness and my strength. In irl world, I need to improve on this. Web3 world, I can connect a lot of pieces together and have more confidence.

Totally agree! A strong network is the most important when it comes to business, etc.. For example I got my last 2 jobs only because I knew the right people. Knowing the right people opens up so many doors. That's why I love to go to big events and try to connect with people from all different areas. For that reason I'm considering visiting NFT Paris again in 2025 🤔

Building a strong network is key to finding new opportunities. In my experience, who you know can often open more doors than what you know. Combining online and in-person networking has been the most effective approach for me.

Making connections is key in irl and online. While doing real estate in NYC I made a connection thet helped me launch a very successful Historical Restoration company. Online, first on Discord years ago. Modding for projects then making a bond with a great game developer. Within the next few years was running promotion for his first token venture. It didn’t pan out ultimately but it was like a Speedrun course on what to and not to do when launching. Still back on Discord ended up being a matchmaker between projects and a good sized dex. Every step I have learned more.. even from the missteps
