Moxie Improvement Proposal 1 (MIP-1) is now live for DAO Vote:

Moxie was born 108 days ago as SocialFi on Farcaster.

During that time Moxie has gained 94,368 users who hold 13,261,637 Fan Tokens by locking 1,051,014,269 $moxie of the 9,960,640,029 total $moxie supply as TVL into the Moxie Protocol.

To grow Moxie to 1 million users and beyond, the Moxie Protocol Core team is positioning Moxie to be the SocialFi protocol across the entire Base Blockchain.

To make that possible, the core team is recommending the following improvements be made to the protocol, as a combined MIP-1 proposal:

Enable the Moxie Protocol to be used without a Moxie Pass NFT. This will enable anyone anywhere to buy, sell or create Fan Tokens on the Base Blockchain.

Enable wallet to wallet transfers of Fan Tokens so that Fan Tokens can be more easily utilized in standard wallets and DeFi protocols.

Vote For to proceed with MIP-1 proposal, or Against.

This week, I focused on strengthening my portfolio with some promising moves. My current holds include MOXIE, ETH, BDE, and DEGEN. I’m particularly hopeful about the future of DEGEN, BDE, and MOXIE, as I believe these projects have significant potential for growth and innovation in the market.

One trend that caught my attention this week is the increasing buzz around decentralized finance and community-driven tokens. It’s becoming clearer that projects with strong communities and unique utilities are gaining traction.

For me, this was the most exciting part of the community call today:

Opening up fan tokens to be bought, sold, transferred, and created outside of Farcaster (this still has to be voted on, but I'd be extremely surprised if it doesn't pass)

Fan tokens are a powerful new primitive, but them being non-transferrable so far has limited their use cases. 

This new change would allow FTs to be used across DeFi, and perhaps in new protocols built specifically for FTs. 

Some possibilities:
 - Borrowing & lending markets (enables leverage on FTs)
 - FT index funds
 - FT LPing to augment bonding curve liquidity

As a primarily Solidity / DeFi dev I'm super pumped about this and have lots of ideas.
