I’m all for being critical of the failures of DEI and related initiatives, but this headline just seems racist to me? If you disagree, would love to hear your perspective.

I dislike Harris, she's the career politician Hillary Clinton replacement. But NYT is a trash tabloid, so I'm not surprised at racist headlines like this.

It could equally be sexist.. But if their argument is that Harris isn't the most qualified on merit (and, given her performance as VP, that's a fair argument), isn't the most popular, and doesn't have the most chance to beat Trump, but rather selected mostly on DEI criteria, I'd say it's not an unreasonable case to make. Question is would the NYP make the same statement about someone else in the same position (say Susan Rice or Michelle Obama). I'd say probably not. So if that's the case I wouldn't say it's racist/sexist

Biden made it racist to start: https://time.com/5803677/joe-biden-woman-vice-president/ I'm not sure why he said that because now she's always going to be judged as having only gotten the job because of her race and gender

The nypost has been cranking out racist bullshit like this, and worse, for a while now. It's the trashiest of trashy tabloids. They make all their money by rage baiting idiots, and they've embraced that market aggressively.

Questioning the effectiveness of DEI initiatives is fair, but accusations of racism in this headline seem unfounded.
