I was waiting in line at a small café when the person ahead of me dropped their wallet. They didn’t notice, so I picked it up and called out to them. They turned around, surprised, and thanked me with a big smile. As they took the wallet, a receipt fell out, and we both laughed when we saw it was for way too much coffee. “Long week?” I asked, and they nodded. We shared a brief moment of understanding before going our separate ways. It was a small, simple interaction, but it made the day feel a little brighter.
