What's your experience with web3 messaging (MailChain, XMTP, etc?) Curious to hear any real-life benefits you've experienced as a result of these protocols. Eg contacted NFT owner for a sale? Unified inbox simplified your workflows? Etc.

Really interested in the ability to contact NFT owners for various reasons. How do you do that at this point so they actually receive it?

I don’t think you can at this point. Need large wallets to integrate, or some other introduction into mainstream usage

I think some wallets have experimented with integrating, but: - How do you deal with spam? - Receiving messages directly to the app where you keep all your money seems bad Definitely think there should be a way to communicate with relevant people, e.g. your holders, but in a structured way, rather than chat

iirc @mg worked on a thing called 'conditional deliverability' where you can describe what kind of messages you want to get (e.g., only people who I manually approved or my FC followers or people who own the same NFT etc.)

Yep. Consent to message will be an important future step for the protocol to take, and making it simple for users and devs will be critical. Implied vs express consent is existing terminology, so no need to reinvent that wheel. But each front end may have its own view on implicit vs explicit. Much to learn.
