not a fan of air conditioning. it's too easy to become complacent and the problem never goes away.

do you fast? I've found it makes eating way more enjoyable. also kind of primal indulgence since humans evolved to gorge on large game then starve in the interim.

yes! love fasting. I didn't even know it was a thing until I told a friend I just eat once a day and they were like, "oh nice I intermittent fast as well" yo, it has a name? although hunger and overheating have inverse effects on my (and most ppl's) productivity

overheating is no joke, even though I'm staunchly opinionated about AC. I've probably come close enough to heatstroke to be concerned in retrospect. π€·ββοΈ that being said, consistent intermittent fasting per a given time of day (w/ low glycemic meal beforehand) is definitely worth the productivity boost imho.

ooh interesting. your preference against AC is precise? can you say more?

sure, I try as much as possible to use water + shearing force instead of AC. if it's absolutely critical, I prefer keeping AC within as small a space as possible with as little exposure to ambient environment as possible (e.g. computer room). but fans in the right config tend to be effective enough in certain contexts.

I remember having friends as a kid that would absolutely blast AC in the summer to internal temps of <60Β°F, & it's just so much wattage out the window (literally). and schools are sometimes the same, though in the Bahrain I recall there being some degree of conservation (despite the obvious heat index). water is key.
