imo buying an S tier .com for your startup for $1.8m is great if you can afford it

contrarian, wins the battle for attention, can be sold for cash if needed

will not get you to pmf on it's own but it's not as stupid as some people make it to be

it's on some financing, so maybe not liquidatable. if there's ad revenue, then one of these accessory startups will be faustian enough to give away personal data.

device-wise, maybe a 2x markup? if that's enough to bootstrap the gopro version of this, maybe it's a viable strategy. otherwise, it's a pathos gambit (like the domain) & risk of rinse is much higher.
