What are your thoughts on naming? Has a bit of a debate this week because we needed to rename our company due to a potential legal conflict. How much do you think name influences on outcomes of consumer products?

Yeah I feel that most names that are really household names today were pretty meaningless back in the day (Apple, Google) or outright bad (Microsoft). But I get the feeling that the right name really helps with narrative, internally and externally.

I've learned that peoples' associations with a name built over time are far more important than a sequence of letters. Amazon is the ethos because of what people now know it can do. Google was the worst nerd snipe anyone could have come up with. Nobody knew what it meant. Today it is the greatest business of all time.
