Decided to run my first marathon April ‘25 (Paris Marathon). Going (almost) from couch to marathon in 8 months. Any tips?

Finally sharing our $4m seed round led by Lux Capital their first investment in Brazil. This is just the beginning of our journey to build Magie as the trusted AI-agent for finance, starting with payments. Brazil has a set of unique conditions that make it the perfect place for us to start: a large profit pool in retail banking, a favorable regulatory environment and a way to distribute it to millions through Whatsapp https://techcrunch.com/2024/08/22/lux-capital-made-its-first-investment-in-brazil-a-4m-seed-for-ai-fintech-magie/

I think there’s some good lessons for founders on the distribution mechanism and tipping for $DEGEN, as @coopahtroopa.eth mentioned before. I still think it misses a proper sink.

Wrote my first article on X on the disconnect of crypto and fintech. Side note: the publishing tool for articles is a great feature. https://x.com/dgntec/status/1772030475361464416?s=46

Investors are a bit like ChatGPT. To get them to do work for you it’s important to prompt them the right way. Be very specific in your asks to get the best results.

The most important thing you need to understand about tokens, in a simple chart:

The ability to deploy a smart contract and make it accessible to millions of users in a permissionless way is such an underrated feature of building on blockchains. We’re building on WhatsApp to kickstart distribution, and the amount of hoops you have to jump through to get simple things approved is staggering.

Crypto is amazing. It fits perfectly to the size of your ambition. You can aim to create new states, alternative currencies and new business models for huge industries. You can also be launching meme coins or become a full time reply guy. To each their own.

I see 3 main founder archetypes in crypto: Old School — founders building traditional companies: @barmstrong @jda.eth Thought Leaders/Cat Herders — founders of decentralized protocols: Satoshi, @vitalik.eth Hybrid: building companies on top of the protocols they built: @dwr.eth @haydenzadams

This is Bob. Bob is a memecoin apologist. Bob thinks he will create an alternative financial system by engaging in a game of hot potato. Don’t be like Bob.

Ben Franklin had something called “Virtues Journal”. He tracked 13 key virtues and noted how he had performed each day. I’ve kept a simple one since ‘20, tracking: meditation, exercise, temperance. Good habits are key for founders. Which ones do you cultivate?

Maybe memecoins are not stupid. But they are certainly a distraction for most founders. More casino than computer, so to speak. Distractions are more dangerous than purely stupid or evil things. You can spend a whole decade being distracted thinking you’re making progress.
