These models were my answer. Anyone can use them but they are built with specific primary functions and presets. For now, those presets can be unlocked by the strength of your prompt. You couldn’t have told me 5 years ago I would go on to have my own personally trained models available to the public for exploration and use. The trick with my models? Knowing they are intentionally layered with creative expression potential. After an experience where I was requested to render something culturally misaligned with my identity, I grew increasingly cautious of the who created and why when viewing work targeting my interest. And, actively wanted to avoid falling into a trap of cultural blindness when collaborating. I watched over time as some would monitor me, looking to extract without attribution while maintaining following counts many times greater than mine and wondered; what can I do to protect my people while doing this work? I’m a teacher and problem solver by trade so I’m driven to find the solve.

(And they are words that have been stretched and abused to the point of meaninglessness: remember, in the 1990s, Microsoft called Linux "communist": https://www.theregister.com/2000/07/31/ms_ballmer_linux_is_communism/ ) I support freedom, global equality of opportunity, kindness and cooperation, human welfare and progress. These are timeless principles. The question is how to use the tools we have available to achieve these values in the context of the 21st century. I've written at length about the kinds of mechanisms I personally support, but I definitely do not think that I am the only source of good ideas, I think figuring out the best approach is a shared project of both thinking and also increasingly real world experimentation.

I had so much fun with this episode. I do a lot of focus work on human subjects and it’s only part of what I do and enjoy.
