You couldn’t have told me 5 years ago I would go on to have my own personally trained models available to the public for exploration and use. The trick with my models? Knowing they are intentionally layered with creative expression potential. After an experience where I was requested to render something culturally misaligned with my identity, I grew increasingly cautious of the who created and why when viewing work targeting my interest. And, actively wanted to avoid falling into a trap of cultural blindness when collaborating. I watched over time as some would monitor me, looking to extract without attribution while maintaining following counts many times greater than mine and wondered; what can I do to protect my people while doing this work? I’m a teacher and problem solver by trade so I’m driven to find the solve.

I had so much fun with this episode. I do a lot of focus work on human subjects and it’s only part of what I do and enjoy. If you care anything about the state of crypto art and AI as an art medium, you might want to take a look at this. Not financial advice. Just years in the space building solutions to problems as a person typically invisible behind the curtain making things work, opting to step away from my paid corporate life to get my hands dirty because I could see how dire things were here. I’m not alone and represent others who have made it possible for me to keep going when it was clear how much I’m needed because I’m in no one’s pockets.
