Somehow I missed this about the Reddit IPO. The equivalent in crypto happens all the time right? It’d be like Farcaster dropping a token and allocating x% to channel hosts. Not unheard of but interesting to see in a traditional IPO.

I can’t help but think, when a company offers ipo shares to retail, it sees them as exit liquidity and to pump up the price with people who have an emotional attachment to the company Substack did similar for a private round. IPO is admittedly more acceptable and I think good in general

Yeah the terms of this are a little muddy. Are these shares offered at a discount? If so, with no lockup, it’s a good deal. If not, it’s unlikely that it gives mods any kind of advantage.
