However: Tangen likes being European, and so would most Americans “True, the US produces more innovation. The global economy needs the US, or at least a few inventive bits of it” — but thank god I’m not forced to live there. (Will move when I want to fundraise…)

not surprising in the least (hey, i live here too! 😂) fwiw, i've actually never worked in the US, only in Asia (JP, KR, VN) and Europe (DE, FR)

biggest difference (mind you this >15 years ago 😱) is colleagues in jp & kr were highly team oriented and aimed for efficiency as a unit (everyone stays until the work is considered finished) in france, i feel less sense of unity and work is merely a formality, which is fair but comes at the expense of efficiency
