A Client that barely uses the full protocol potential. For instance clients that could be using farcaster casts but rather use their own thing and only allow people to share to farcaster. I.e they leverage farcaster to grow themselves without giving back to the protocol.

Ok I see they only have login with farcaster that's good. And also, if the protocol definitely doesn't give them the tools they need it's ok to build their own. I'm taking about clients that only partially integrante with farcaster and that could just detach from it if they grow enough.

@alfafrens is a good experiment in this direction - uses farcaster accounts but creates a separate graph of connections

Ultimately usage and integration grows the protocol, so that’s “giving back” by itself
