Total slacktivism but I’m pissed so… if you report an issue you can say the name is wrong and suggest the proper name. There is just so much BS going on I’m losing it a little bit 🤣🤢😞

FYI on Google Maps on iOS, you can bring up the menu to report an issue by shaking your phone. Unfortunately it doesn't let you select the Gulf to suggest a name change, but you can leave general feedback

Surely this is slacktivism, but only takes 3 minutes so seems worthwhile to flood their feedback inbox ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Arabs are also trying to change the name of the Persian Gulf to Arabic gulf .

So, what you’re saying is Trump could make an EO and change the name of any place in the world and google would change that on maps accessed in the US?

As somebody in the biz (not gmaps), we do not decide what things are named. We just compile various official sources and ingest them into the map data. Very, VERY, rarely do we manually decide what things should be called.

I have no love for trump or google, but what exactly should google do in this situation?
