At /bcard (https://getbcard.io/), we are thinking about permissionlessly releasing a $degen card - that is, a debit card that will give you cash back in $degen.  We just don't know if it's a good fit.

So for this raindrop, do any of the following:

The truth is - right now we CANNOT compete against the big banks for cash back, but we CAN compete in crypto values: transparency, bottom-up organization, and equitable distribution of profit. If I already get cash back off my current card and it’s higher than 1-2%

In fact it is only fiat!  /bcard is fiat-load, fiat-spend with rewards in community tokens.

At the moment we are only available in the USA, though, so USD is our unit of account.

If $degen is the rewards, what is the underlying unit of account, USDC? or can it be localized to fiat?

The card can be used to pay for anything right now - shops, ice cream, breweries, tickets, and more.  That's because it's fiat-load, fiat-spend, with rewards in community tokens (like $degen)

It's a sensational idea!!
The first thing I would do is offer in local shops, ice cream parlors, breweries, cafes, etc., etc. the possibility of using the card there to consume something.

Obviously, my favorite expense would be to be able to use that card to pay for a plane ticket or a night in a hotel. Imagine that you can give a friend a night in a hotel with his wife, and you can pay for it with DEGEN!!!

Since it’s a fiat-load fiat-spend card, there is no conversion unless you use the card internationally.  Is that what you are talking about?

My Question: Will the DEGEN rewards grow over time (more per $) if the community goes hard at committing their swipes to the DEGEN cause?

Between 0.05-0.25% with our current provider.  We hope to get to 1-2% in the long term.

What is the cash back equivalent % to the rewards?
