My experience running a crypto fund for 6 years Pros - get to meet and work with some of the smartest founders / teams - spend days learning many interesting things - straightforward biz model Cons - can be sharp elbows / political - a lot of fundraising / LP management if starting fund - far removed from building

Knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently when you were actively running the fund?

Would have been way stricter with the LPs that we took on since a handful of them made up the bulk of the work (didn't have as much luxury to choose when we started but in hindsight it wasn't worth it to take some of them on)

What made them more work than others? Did their check size influence perceived workload?

Some consistently had a bunch of operational and financial ad hoc requests outside of monthly statements and annual tax/audit, some needed their hand held through the bear market (e.g. would freak out and needed calls) These were actually the smaller check amounts. The largest checks were the lowest maintenance for us
