For my fund Scalar, 90% of our investors were really wonderful. However, 10% were deeply unkind during the bear market. We took capital from them because raising in 2017 for us was really challenging If you have a choice, be really careful about vetting investors. Some only show their true colors in difficult times

Some are worse than unkind. There’s probably personality screenings we all need to learn and apply these rigorously. In all relationships really. But if the funding offered is controlled by certain kinds of people, you must not engage under any circumstances.
