It’s just busy work and silly. We don’t even do our homework for my first grader - if she’s motivated to do it, sure. But I’m not gonna force it. She’s 6.

I did the same. Being told you have to finish colouring a picture when you don’t want to do it is just getting kids used to work over time. Never enforced it. I’m still very relaxed on homework. Sleep and play are more important. Even for pre-teens

100% they’re in school for 8 hours - they don’t need more work on top of it. If she wants to do it, let’s do it, but I’m not gonna struggle. I can barely feed them dinner and get them to bed on time without fights lol It’s pass fail gimme a break with your 1hour + homework 😒 She can read - I’m happy!
