It’s just busy work and silly. We don’t even do our homework for my first grader - if she’s motivated to do it, sure. But I’m not gonna force it. She’s 6.

I did the same. Being told you have to finish colouring a picture when you don’t want to do it is just getting kids used to work over time. Never enforced it. I’m still very relaxed on homework. Sleep and play are more important. Even for pre-teens

These are projects that are then displayed and ranked and give. Awards. The last one was recycling based and one kid/parent has a nearly working robot the size of a child. This time it’s about vehicles that move and prior examples include rockets and stuff and that is what we did.
