We need apps and systems that don't just wedge in a token and distribute/airdrop it to their "community" to serve as exit liquidity for their investors. Only for the product to die once token is done. Devs: Start building sustainable products Users: Get used to paying for them

You're absolutely right. Crypto space needs to move beyond the speculative token mania and focus on building sustainable products with real utility. For me,Uniswap is a shift to sustainable crypto models - real utility through decentralized token swaps, liquidity via fee rewards, and community governance fostering

this is an instance of token incentives being unaligned with the desired outcomes of the apps/products. in an ideal world, tokens get distributed to those making meaningful contributions rather than users who farm and don’t have an actual use for the product. otherwise, it’s just a sea of dead products and apps.

So true!! Also companies innovating for SOL & ETH products are where it’s at for me personally. I recently found out about one that released the world’s first approved ETH ETF from Canada and they seem to have more in the works for SOL! https://3iq.io/staking?utm_source=warpcast

Starting "small" even requires seed money. Devs who want to build their (sometimes sustainable) products need investors or they have to risk their own money. Investors, on the other hand, want to be rewarded for their "betting" as much/fast as possible. This is where the unsustainable "Tokenomics" comes in.

I've been thinking about this. But if we combine this with what @dwr.eth "devs care about decentralization. Users don't". We end up with the task of creating a web 2 experience on web 3. But why don't just build web 2 then? It'll be easier. What's a clear advantage of web 3 if users don't care about decentralization?

Absolutely... the trend of leveraging tokens and airdrops as a quick fix often leads to a temporary surge in user numbers, but it rarely fosters sustainable growth. However, ultimately i believe the market will solve this. We're already seeing signs of change as airdrop farmers grow increasingly frustrated. Sustainable, value-driven products are the future.
