We need apps and systems that don't just wedge in a token and distribute/airdrop it to their "community" to serve as exit liquidity for their investors. Only for the product to die once token is done. Devs: Start building sustainable products Users: Get used to paying for them

I've been thinking about this. But if we combine this with what @dwr.eth "devs care about decentralization. Users don't". We end up with the task of creating a web 2 experience on web 3. But why don't just build web 2 then? It'll be easier. What's a clear advantage of web 3 if users don't care about decentralization?

For instance. I'd like to build a notion-like platform on web 3 so that people can build in public. But unless I can think of a web3 feature that makes it better or at least solves a few pain points that notion doesn't, it doesn't make sense to build it on web 3.

one advantage is that because crypto feels like play money instead of real money people are more willing to pay for things they otherwise wouldn't some non crypto applications solve this by having points or credits that you buy, but these are non transferable and often not purchasable in small increments
