A common mistake I see founders make in pitches: confusing value prop with GTM. Value prop = Why your product is compelling. GTM = Your initial wedge into the market: who you target first and how you reach them. Your GTM should be informed by your value prop, but they’re not the same. When explaining GTM, it’s worth reinforcing the value prop—but don’t conflate them.

Interesting!! Suprised that this is a common mistake. Do you think this is just a lack of understanding of jargon or an inability to understand that you need both? Is this a red flag for you?

Agree with @lata, but would add that also many technical founders don't have as firm a grasp on the GTM motion. So they tend to lean into what they know: Product, Design, Eng., etc. and don't have the background to really go deep into how the GTM motion will deliver on the value prop
