two thoughts - changing your opinion should be appreciated and even celebrated; the only people who will get mad about you changing an opinion are fixed mindset mids (mostly) - optimizing for fun should be encouraged because it can mean optimizing for wealth; never fun to lose money (v different than spending money)

the challenging thing about #1 is that other people map your previously held opinions to your identity so changing your opinions in public after they feel "entrenched" is tough for a lot of people still gotta do it, but it takes more of a thick skin than it otherwise might in private
