It was a zoom meeting, using the normal zoom software, and I don't recall approving anything suspicious, they never sent me any links except the (legit) zoom meeting one

all in all, I'm still not sure how they did it. Only…

Either hit your hot directly or go to powershell / terminal and run a command that installs malware

Usually intostealer e.g. stealc or amos. Not sophisticated but deadly enough.

According to his replies it was already installed, he just opened the link.

But, there was usually something. If they could recall it they usually wouldn’t have got hit by it.

Everyone I know on farcaster who got scammed by this answered the direct message because it said you have 60+ mutuals. It’s why I’m encouraging everyone to review who they’re following. There are way too many scammers here waiting to take advantage of people.

They actually have a web app. IDK why I have to click five times to launch zoom as a web though.

my prioritization: 1) "who am I willing to have spy on this portion of what I'm saying" + diversification of platforms, 2) then UX for team, 3) then UX for others
