Listened on my flight to a great ep w Vanessa Van Edwards, specialist in science-based people skills. This interview is almost a practical guide on how to do networking. A few personal insights: – The most popular kids in school are those who liked a large number of their classmates. Similarly, we become more attractive to others when we like as many people as possible. – Charisma can be scientifically broken down into two components: warmth and competence. – If you consider yourself lucky, you’ll notice more opportunities. If you consider yourself unlucky, you won’t. –Perspective can change our self-perception. When I got married, I told my wife she would inherit “the links luck”, and she told me it changed her outlook on opportunities. I teach the same to my kids and believing themselves lucky always makes good things come their way.

Love Stephen’s podcast. Will have to add this one to my list. I’m not the most extroverted guy but I’ve always felt like I can find a point of relatability to every person I meet. That has served me incredibly well throughout life.
