I find it quirky when I see personal trainers at the gym showing clients hyper specific exercises that do barely anything instead of showing them squats, pull ups, pushups, dips, overhead press, rows, basic stuff I see it happening a lot, maybe they have to create weird exercises for client retention? I'm not sure lol

No client wants to hear that they should do basic exercises, it makes them feel like their shiny-object syndrome is being threatened. At the end of the day, these "basic" exercises are the foundation of your strength. Doing some cardio-based thing where you through a dumbbell around isn't gonna do shit except raise your VO2 max.

it’s to seem like an expert. it’s really stupid AT MOST… maybe all they’ll need to throw in to the fundamentals is a front squat, zurcher lift, some kettle bell work.
