The drives are what is expensive atm, 4tb nvme ssds are like $200-300 a pop and you likely want 2 if you don't wanna risk one dying and having to reindex everything. From there the specs for the machine to run a full node are pretty small ( see https://reth.rs/installation/installation.html) But the main cost is going to come from your ETL after this, ie if you want to keep real time balances or contract data you will need to do actions on every block and store the data. Eth is pretty slow block times but the others are not, also gotta account for reorgs and things. Overall cost to have all the data is not so high but it depends on what you wanna do after that, that part could be costly!

I run @indexsupply on a single, very good server. I'm indexing 10+ chains and have over 12TB of data indexed. I keep a second, not-as-good server for a backup. It doesn't have to be expensive.

How much does it cost to index a whole evm chain? Rough estimate is fine I know its probably insane but am super curious

my bad I thought my cast sent but I guess it didn't lol TBH, nest has grown on me - I really like it now, very easy to abstract away modules compared to express, feels like a lot easier to kickstart something imo def have grown to appreciate writing class based code also

how would you guys compare Prometheus + grafana vs data dog? trying to figure out the simplest way to set up monitoring and deciding between the two leaning towards data dog rn unless I can find a hosted way to use prometheus + grafana. ideally don't want to set up my own server

Who’s used nestjs in production? Played around with it last week and have been liking it a lot - still figuring out how it compares to express
