how would you guys compare Prometheus  + grafana vs data dog?

trying to figure out the simplest way to set up monitoring and deciding between the two

leaning towards data dog rn unless I can find a hosted way to use prometheus + grafana. ideally don't want to set up my own server

I went with dd, was pretty easy to setup

Datadog is simple to set up

Self-hosted Grafana gets more relevant at scale. That is, when the Datadog bill scales up 😅
