Bread making advice needed :) I’ve been learning how to bake bread with yeast this year. Often I find that my bread turns out quite dense instead of chewy and soft (see the sandwich bread photo below). Does anyone have any advice on how to improve homemade bread’s texture? Any tips and/or beginner friendly bread recipes would be much appreciated! :)

Looks to be over-proofed and undercooked. Does it look great out of the oven and then contract as it cools? Aside from using a sourdough starter (which produces more consistent outcomes, in my experience), try one where you err on the side of under-proofing and then adjust from there based on results. I'd also try cooking it a bit longer than you normally would. Could also try the stretch and fold technique if the dough is fairly wet. Good luck!
