both independent research and mainstream media by themselves are overrated. One ossifies into consensus manufacturing and the other eventually devolves into unchecked rable rousing of a madman

How to fix? Cycling between the two models or a hybrid approach?

I’ve been brainstorming some solutions, like a researcher/publisher/producer/admin cooperative where everyone profit-shares via a plural vote 4x per year. But maybe that’s my hippie upbringing talking

I think @keikreutler was part of blogger peer review but I don’t know the current status of it. Seems like informal networks and group chats are the current half ass solution

Yea that tracks. The lack of a shared physical center I feel like is a big issue. Like there’s enough people around today to form a Vienna Circle equivalent, but there’s no “Vienna” — or too many Viennas — so to speak Maybe one exists but I haven’t heard of it (intellectual dark web is close but vibes are off)

Yeah OI blogger peer review came out of a group chat of people who happened to write. Part of that group chat came from a consulting project, but another part came from a gathering in upstate NY. It's tapered off now that people are less online. I'm focusing on creating a gathering place right now partially because of this.
