I also am really irked by what feels like an over diagnosis of ADHD in recent years. Especially when parents pedal it as a disability or excuse for everything their child does

I assume there is a gradient here of suffering, no absolutes. Ie maybe at one point ADHD only applied for whom there was 10/10 suffering, but now we apply it to everyone from 2/10 to 10/10 if that makes sense

Yes!! On a personal note it often takes away from people who really need the help and resources like children with Down syndrome. 

On a less personal note there is also, what I believe to be, over medication for it. I think a lot of times we don't let kids be kids. 

Example- Just because a little boy is fidgety and chatty after hours at a desk doesn't mean he needs to be medicated it actually means he's just being a little boy
