Meow. This is a fun fight. I use my ENS here (obviously) but I don’t really believe ENS has delivered on their promises. There is so much competition for namespace alone, which prevents universal adoption of ENS. It feels like people mostly support ENS now out of some sense of loyalty to the dream. Squatters have taken everything, too. I have had someone try to sell my name back to me. In contrast my FID gives me interoperable identity+wallet address — PLUS network, reputation. It is more than just the name alone like ENS and the many competitors

yea building a namescape without any identity attached to it is hard to get adopted, and just hate a bunch of inactive wallets squatting a lot of the S tier names

This was one of the reasons I initially created Everyname (now sold, and shut down afaik) - a namespace aggregator because I and @so and @johanna were of the view that many namespaces will exist across EVM and elsewhere, often context specific like FC. There won't be one canonical one, there will be many, some public, some privately labeled, all there to help make crypto addresses more human friendly, memorable, and in some cases discoverable. It's unfortunate that there is what appears to be a one sided turf war on this going on right now

Wasn't @brantly.eth working on a network for ENS? ENS Follow Protocol?
