For sure. People thinking on X-Y axis believe the answer to this is to be "Purple" But I think the winning movement will create a Z-axis: https://warpcast.com/tldr/0xafea930f

Btw- our previous convo about Koch etc helped me to conceive of this frame. The qualities I was calling "incidental" to Gray are the ones that are mostly living on the current X-Y (ie, Red-Blue) axis of political discourse. A new Z-axis should be the essence of Gray: tech-forward, Internet Values, right-to-improve.

I learned a lot from that too 😂 People have been discussing grey/gray values for 7, 8 years now. It has not come any closer to being a viable political project. There is/was extreme reticence towards the dirty work of politics, you yourself acted like I insulted you when I suggested you were a (necessary) leader!

"A gray by any other name..." – past movements of similar name less interesting to me than what's getting built here. I remember you presenting gray as being "my project" while saying I also had no clarity on the core values. Your second point is correct, but not the first. Clarity will come from building together.

I do think this is your project and that is good. You should take ownership and LEAD vs punting back to some undefined group to “build with”. People want alternatives NOW and the Red/Blue so extreme that issue of “values” may be moot. This decentralized group project vibe is not effective for actual progress

Not trying to punt, I just genuinely think there are other people who have a better grasp on actual content of a tech-forward movement (eg @vitalik.eth @balajis.eth @jessepollak) than I do. If my "leading" can be about urgently bringing them in and helping to build consensus around a political vision, I agree w you.

I never say this but I think you need more hubris. Why not you? You are passionate, charismatic, a natural “people” person, I’ve seen it IRL! By all means learn from them but ionno man I think you could and should

This may be apt, given that my core training is in Ancient Greek philosophy. I appreciate the compliment. I only pursue leadership when I am *sure* I can help more than hurt. It's good to keep an eye on whether I'm sometimes too cautious about that 🤍
