What does someone stand to lose without muscle mass? Was asked this and was taken aback. Curious what your take is

Good question Recently lost a patient he had severe weight loss and among other things before we lost him he couldn’t work because of the amount of muscle mass he had lost he literally just bones Muscle mass have a lot more importance - mobility, balance and coordination strength - helps maintain BMR to an extent - posture - joint health the list goes on

I don't know how old the patient was, but the risk of this increases as you age. The more you have to start, the more you can afford to lose https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/sarcopenia
