Did we rotate out of the H-1B meta already? Given its lack of staying power / relatively quick decline in the public discourse, I wonder if it was manufactured controversy (that Vivek’s post gave credence to) Also could be a signal that the incoming coalition is fairly strong / united

It’s out of the trend cycle but I believe people still care. Got an earful from a MAGA guy I know from the gym about it last week. He told me “the honeymoon is over with Trump” And I am glad it happened, because I was too ignorant of the abuses of the program and unaware of both immigrant attitudes (native born Americans are retards/subhuman retards and I deserve your citizenship more than you) and how elites enable them. It is over in part because Trump put a gag order on his incoming cabinet and in part because tech took a conciliatory/populist LARP stance when they realized they overplayed hand

Anti immigration momentum has also shifted to exposing the British grooming gangs, and rehashing a lot of the debacle there. It’s like a thing to point to, to show why America needs to be stricter
