Yeah I’m framing it solely in terms of cost to company here

I read that a bit differently: 

“Second, they are asking for much more than $2/ hour. In fact, on the day they went on strike, their demands equaled $7/hour more.”

Their demands equaled $7/hour more I think means $2/hr pay plus other things that cost $5/hr (guessing benefits). 

But helpful to get more context for sure.

IIRC the original thread you shared on this said they were being paid like $6/hr less than similar positions at nearby resorts so…seems ok?
