I remember I told myself when I left NYC not to worry because I could always come back. And then I started to check StreetEasy in my old neighborhood and realize I could not go back, not at least to the life I enjoyed before https://archive.is/BOjNl Hindsight is 20/20, but I wish I had understood this better before taking off. "The average tech worker salary in New York is $135,000 - which puts 65% of all city apartments out of their reach."

for those lucky enough to have remote work, i think there are a lot of underrated places to live depending on what you're looking for unfortunately wanting an NYC experience is the only thing you won't find

It’s crazy because tech workers are considered to have relatively “high salaries” and cannot afford most apartments How then can lower income residents cope?
