I just matched with someone I walked past at the Opera on Sunday. 

It made me think I should go to the Opera/Concerts more and say hi to interesting-looking strangers. 

Maybe not on mothers day tho, as seemingly all of them were there with their mums - which felt a little too high of a bar🤣

Ofc... he's in an open relationship. 

I'm starting to think I am the weird one cause I don't have at least one open relationship, nor am I interested in the concept 💀

Not sure if the other partners need to be romantic partners or just friends with benefits. 

And that’s where it gets tricky. Both need to agree to that position/status

I don't want the partner to be everything, I got plenty of friends for things like intellectual exchange, nerd hobbies etc. 

But also I only have so much energy/ mindspace so i struggle with the idea of allocating the romantic partner piece of me to more than 1 person.

I think we are moving away from the idea that your partner also needs to be your best friend. Just like we moved away from the idea that your partner needs to protect your gene pool or provide financial security

Is it a modern idea for a romantic partner to be your everything? 

I feel it's very 20th century, so that is Modern period technically. 🤔 

I think the concept of marrying for love is newer but I think we are evolving to accept that one person or one type of love might not meet your needs/wants
