agree - it should be approached like any other kind of business investment, there needs to be sufficient evidence the idea is needed/wanted and that the team involved can execute it

It might be as you say but one the reasons that I would point out for that is because there’s still people/groups who are hesitant to take a dive into web3. Grants are supposed to go somewhere and if the good ones don’t show up that still shouldn’t stop the wheel from turning!

very much agree. its a rather small insular space still so you get these issues of ppl just having "ideas" & thinking they're great & not doing the strategic research to know/see if they're viable.
