The boys are debating in the group chat whether the Trump administration could take legal action against Jeffrey Goldberg for publishing parts of the Signal chat. What do you guys think?

I mean there's a wide depth of difference between can he or will he. In a normal world, the issue of entrapment aside( i think that's a huge hurdle in the question of charges would be is this considered entrapment) id say it's at the level now where any other time it would be treated as a whistleblower leak. But also I absolutely do think trump would throw him in jail if it affected public perception negatively

The info wasn’t obtained illegally, apparently wasn’t in breach of national security, it’s common for messaged and emails to be published when in the public interest. When it’s the job of certain people within any government to ‘leak’ info to the press, wouldn’t it just set a legal precedent which would damage the ability of the spin doctors for fear of being prosecuted for the same offence?

I wish they would, not sure how much discovery can be effected against the VP & SecDef, but it would be great legal precedent to set when they get laughed out of court.

Seems like if the CIA director says under oath it's not classified then it's not classified, but I wouldn't take that bet.

nah he already alerted them and discussed this with the white house the next morning, and they repeatedly mentioned how not classified it was at the hearing yesterday so what's the issue
