The info wasn’t obtained illegally, apparently wasn’t in breach of national security, it’s common for messaged and emails to be published when in the public interest. 
When it’s the job of certain people within any government to ‘leak’ info to the press, wouldn’t it just set a legal precedent which would damage the ability of the spin doctors for fear of being prosecuted for the same offence?
