It’s pretty stable since XVI century, not much variety for traditional way of writing music. but of course, modern composers write whatever they feel

How much variance has there been on the musical notation from your historical scores, vs modern orchestrations today?

i’m sorry Naomi, i missed your comment 🤦‍♀️ yes, i’m a big fan of hand writing books and scores from that time. my oldest piece of paper is year 1612

The medieval music scores can be soo pretty. Where they were all hand drawn and copied.
