Purple

If you don’t think the spam is that bad, I implore you to go to a channel like /memes  or /purple  that has their recent feed on and look through it. 

I don’t want to miss legitimate questions about /purple so I check the recent feed every few hours and every few hours I’m rewarded with 10 new people to block. 

Channel invitations can’t come fast enough.

When I was monitoring casts during the Power Badge era, I used Buoy to get an unvarnished view into our feed and was truly stunning how much garbage is there. Merkle does a lot to keep this out of view, more than people realize.

I’ve seen the unmoderated feeds of big channels. It’s horrific.

Ha ha ha, yeah, Merkle has done an amazing job combatting the issue as far as I'm concerned. The only issue is that they are a little overzealous, but now that the onus is on the channel moderators, people will get to see what happens when they don't manage the process properly by doing something like posting their link publicly (which ofc people will do). They they'll see.

As two people that have been on the front lines of channel and community moderation and curation, its going to be pretty damn fun watching the chaos. ✌️ 😂

I have my popcorn for the channels that go “public”. I’ve seen that side of Farcaster. It ain’t pretty.
