Web 2 is digital feudalism The platforms hold digital land from the gov’t in exchange for corporate taxes The workers are in paid to work on the platforms, while the users (aka serfs) are obliged to live on the platforms and give homage, labor, and a share of their life, toil away endlessly

It’s easy to go from this and ask ourselves, what is the answer? I’m reminded of this cast from @pixel https://warpcast.com/pixel/0x71b8f7

A bit provocative: How would Web3 *not* be feudalism? Or rather today the "technofeudalism" that Varoufakis talks about? Techno is the problem. Demos is the people. If the people need the technology to hope getting at Web3, the demos is not "sufficient" to be a citizen anymore.

And yes, we all live in a series of feudal prefectures… not dissimilar to GoT

My realization of this came a few years ago, when on a whim, I looked at the videos I've "liked" on YouTube. for the videos I liked 2008-2011 a full 70% were marked as "this video is unavailable". I tried this experiment around 2020. Now if I do this, those unavailable videos are completely gone zero trace of them.
