Stories are like compressed reality - makes me think of the Transformer model that takes an input and has an encoder - the stories are like a set of features that describe reality, or something that's happened in our perceived world - enough features that one can decode it into a rich set of real information

Stories are a path through reference frames and context windows. Knowing which ones come next are a big part of intelligence and prediction, and likely why our survival has depended on telling ourselves, and others, stories. Key to survival is traversing contexts in a particular order, think maps.
