In The Odyssey, Odysseus goes on a journey which was supposed to take only a few weeks in terms of time and resources. But it ends up taking 10 years. If the actual trip had gone according to plan, itd take a few weeks it would’ve been a terrible book. The adventure; all the unforeseen things was the main story

Oh Damn never realised this before that the trip on which i read this book was supposed to be 1 week, but it took 3 months. And those 3 months are the most memorable ones of my life which changed everything for me. Thanks for triggering a new perspective man. Love it.

as I like to say: you can’t have an adventure until something goes wrong

On the theme of sprawling journeys that don't go according to plan, I wonder if you've read "The manuscript found in Saragossa" or have seen it's adaptation? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manuscript_Found_in_Saragossa

I first heard of The Odyssey via a talking dog on public tv called “Wishbone.”. Sounds random but it’s the first thing I thought of while reading this beautiful thought.

I’ve read The Odyssey’s Cliff Notes and all it said was, “And then, things got worse”

It wouldn’t be an adventure, it would just be a trip.
