are there any human institutions that have zero corruption? at an abstract level, social creatures and zero corruption seem to be at opposite ends

Rephrasing this: does power necessarily corrupt? Which begs the question what is corruption? I guess doing something that helps self instead of group or worse that harms group. Which is shortsighted as helping group helps self more. Question of inability>delayed gratification?

So maybe solution is a system that rewards ability for delayed gratification with power? 🤷🏻♂️

Idk, I find corruption more often happens at the end of empires than at the beginnings. Maybe I’m forgetting examples but isn’t the beginning of empires usually with a drop in corruption? Idk I might be making this up lol.

I would say corruption is a narrative that’s sold wholesale to throw people under the bus towards the end of empires etc esp in retrospect It’s not called corruption when you get kill / rid of all your enemies, and rewrite history / narrative (looking at you Augustus)

Hmm it appears this is now a question of definition. There exists a fundamentally flawed thing called corruption from a 1st principle’s perspective but you raise an interesting point that this isn’t necessarily the case. Hmm, ya this is a new angle🧐🤔
